Singing Workshops...

Yvette Staelens is a natural voice practitioner who believes that everyone can sing. Her workshops are

* taught aurally
* for everyone
* often sell out
* No-one is made to sing solo
* those returning to their voice especially welcome.

Cant Sing?

Many people have been told they can't sing by an inconsiderate teacher when they were a child perhaps or by members of their family and believed it! Join Yvette's workshops, discard this label and find your voice.You're worth it!

Singing is your birthright, why deny yourself the pleasure of singing? Singing in a group means that you can sing as quietly or as loudly as you feel able and can share all the positive energy, flow of endorphins, smiles and buzz. No wonder that folks are hooked and Yvette's workshops sell out.

Experienced singers love the fun of it and soar with the harmonies.

  Discover and celebrate songs from these shores and around the world. Most are harmony songs, including rounds, chants and 'feel good' ditties from amazing cultures including the Georgia Sea Islands, South Africa, Korea, Corsica, France, Angola, South Africa, Macedonia, Sweden, China, Germany, anywhere in fact that Yvette can find good songs to share.

  Yvette specializes in Somerset folk song and rather bawdy ballads and catches from 17th century England especially those collected and written by Thomas Ravenscroft and others and of course the songs collected from Somerset folk by Cecil Sharp. Gorgeous uplifting choir songs written by fellow NVPN members always included. Oh and you'll meet new friends too and have a great day out.

Booking a workshop...
You can book Yvette to deliver a workshop for you at a venue chosen by you. Yvette can run a workshop in your arts centre, village hall, school or festival. All you will need is a big room, seating and the usual facilities required for comfort and good access.
We would recommend that the minimum number for a comfortable and enjoyable sing is 15 people, but generally we would suggest that round 30 - 50 people is most fun! We can deliver to larger groups if required, and indeed a 'Big Sing' of 50+ people can be the most enjoyable of all!

Promoting Gigs and Workshops...

  We can help to promote your Roots Quartet booking through our website and
also directly by providing material for press release, poster blanks and
promotional postcards. We are always happy to send promotional CDs for radio
play and to undertake radio interviews if requested. Please ask! We want
to make our show a huge success for you!
